Google is the next Facebook for free marketing post reach
These days free Facebook post reach is choked down to about 1% of your audience. Sometimes zero percent. If you want to pay for “sponsored” Facebook posts, that is a totally different subject which I’ll get to later. It’s crazy to me that most bars and restaurants these days STILL blindly rely on free Facebook posts to bring in business. Most places do this just because they always have done it. It’s just an accepted “thing”. Surprisingly enough no one has really done the math on ROI or actual people walking in the door based off of Facebook posts. When this is tested, rarely if ever does a Facebook post bring in actual traffic to your restaurant or bar.
Bars and restaurants have no problem paying hundreds and sometimes thousands per month for a “social media guy” to mindlessly make these worthless posts.
Yet for some reason no one seems to care about analytics or an actual measurable ROI from social media. Instead we all seem to focus on impressions and call it a win when we have a post gain more impressions than normal. Impressions do NOT equal business. Impressions do NOT equal real people walking through your door and spending money! For some reason social media seems to have a pass when it comes to proving return.
My focus is on proven methods that deliver results. Market where the people are. NEW customers are finding you through online review sites like Yelp and Google, and search engine results. Social media accounts for only 4% of what brings NEW customers through your door! How can new customers see your Facebook posts if they don’t follow you on Facebook? How can they follow you on Facebook if they don’t know you exist yet?
Google. When you are at the top of the search engine rankings, you are set up to win.
So stay ahead of the curve and start posting to your Google page and now ALL people can see your posts. Not only people who “follow” your page. Not just people who have already found you online. Everyone can see your Google posts without limitation. Fire your “social media” guy and hire a great SEO guy to stay relevant. Read more on How To Claim Your Google Page here. Now that your Google posts are visible right in the search results, they are more visible than ever before. Read more on this announcement of Google Posts Are Now Available For Google My Business
