Facebook ads for restaurants
I admit it, I used to say “Paid Facebook ads don’t work!” As long as a few simple guidelines are followed, they actually do work. Don’t approach this like you would approach a free post on your restaurant or bar’s business page. Free posts usually have little to no thought put into them and the return is equally proportional to this. Since your wallet is on the line now that your FREE Facebook reach is choked down to less than 1% by Facebook algorithms, make it count.

Choose an engaging photo
Choose something that will make people stop scrolling and say “Whoa, that looks amazing!” Attention spans these days are less than a second while scrolling social media. If your image doesn’t grab attention in less than one second, move on until you find one that does. Your sexy female servers or bartenders ALWAYS work if done correctly. Keep it classy yet attractive. Great professional food photos done. Not iPhone pictures. Not pictures from your neighbor’s kid who has a cool camera. Get PROFESSIONAL food photos done. Choose your targets carefully
Don’t fall into the trap of choosing “people who like your page and their friends”. This sounds like a no-brainer but remember we’re trying to bring in NEW people here. If the people who have already heard of you and follow you on Facebook see your ads, it’s most likely nothing new to them. Choose your demographics correctly. Do not cast too wide of a net, bigger numbers do not necessarily equal more people in the door. Quality of person is WAY more valuable than quantity when it comes to paid Facebook ads for restaurants. Read more on successful national paid Facebook ads for restaurants here.
